Recently, our team at Fix It Pros was tasked with a unique project for a repeat client. They asked us to build a platform deck for their new gazebo and they had their heart set on using natural cedar. After a careful look at their yard and calculating the slope, we got down to work on a sturdy 2×4 joist system for the deck. This started directly on the ground at the far end and gradually rose to meet the home’s doorstep, resulting in a level, rock-solid deck. We further ensured durability by anchoring the deck into the concrete under the surrounding eco pavers with the help of wedge anchors.
But we didn’t just stop at a deck. We also repaired their existing stairs and added a metal roof above their BBQ area for those inevitable rainy days. To preserve the natural allure of cedar and protect it from the elements, we coated it with a high-quality wood oil finish. Needless to say, our client was thrilled with the final result!
